We spend our October 2004 holiday doing completely....nothing. Pangkor Laut Resort is located 3 hours outside of Kuala Lumpur. The spa experience was very comprehensive and highly recommended. Unfortunately, the remaining resort experience was less than satisfactory simply because for the price category, it was too crowded to be exclusive. Luckily we stayed in the new spa wing which provided some shelter from the loud groups.
We also played a round of golf at a newby resort -- reached via speed boat. The speed boat ride was fun.
Unless you get a very good deal, it's thumbs down from the Chows.
