Have you realised that Ashley always spends his birthday on a fun holiday somewhere? This year, we arrived in Cairns on his birthday. We were determine to improve Elaine's golf game so we arranged a "Stay & Play" package which gave us 3 days of all-you can-play golf. On the first day, we eagerly played 36 holes at Palm Paradise. The next day, we stopped at 27 holes. The third day we struggled at the Links Course in Port Douglas. Other than golf, we hung out on the beaches of Green Island, snorkelled in the Great Barrier Reef and dined at cozy restaurants in Palm Cove and Port Douglas. Our favorities were Colonies in Palm Cove and Sassi (yummy mud crabs) in Port Douglas.
By the time Elaine gave up on golf, it was time to head down to Sydney for Dennis & Winny's wedding celebrations.
We met Dennis & Winny in Hong Kong. Dennis and Ashley worked together at HungryForWords. Dennis great sense of humor gave us many fond laughs to remember. We also recalled the last time we were visiting Sydney, Winny had just moved back to Sydney on that same day!
